چکیده
Abstract Ligamentum flavum cyst of the lumbar spine has seldom been described. The mechanism formation these cysts remains unknown, but it is thought to be part degenerative process. Although they are clearly visible on imaging studies, frequently wrongly diagnosed as ganglion or synovial cysts. Bone erosion rarely associated with this pathology. Most common symptom back and radicular pain due nerve root compression. We report a case ligamentum bone remodeling presented pain. It was correctly pre-operatively treated surgically satisfactory clinical outcome.

Ligamentum flavum cyst: An uncommon but recognizable and surgically correctable category of juxtafacet cyst
Ligamentum flavum cyst is considered as a category of juxtafacet cyst and is recognized to be rare cause of cord compression and radiculopathy. The pathogenesis of these cysts is not yet fully understood, but it has been proposed that continuous stress to this ligament due to minor repetitive trauma, such as in spondylolisthesis and degenerative disc disease, may lead to the development of cyst...
متن کاملMR imaging of a hemorrhagic and granulomatous cyst of the ligamentum flavum with pathologic correlation.
Cysts of the ligamentum flavum are uncommon causes of neurologic signs and symptoms and usually are seen in persons over 50 years of age. We report a case of an epidural cyst located in the ligamentum flavum, which contributed to spinal stenosis in a 30-year-old man. Radiologic features were similar to those of a synovial cyst, but synovium was not identified histologically. The imaging and pat...
متن کاملHaemorrhagic Lumbar Juxtafacet Cyst with Ligamentum Flavum Involvement
Juxtafacet cysts are an uncommon cause of radiculopathy. They occur most frequently in the lumbar region, and their distribution across the spine correlates with mobility. Haemorrhagic complications are rare and may occur in the absence of any provocation, although there is some association with anticoagulation and trauma. We present a case of acute radiculopathy due to an L5/S1 juxtafacet cyst...

Empyema necessitans occurs when pus extends through the parietal pleura into the surrounding tissues.Case ReportWe present here a 4 month old babywith severe respiratory distress and anassociated huge boggy swelling over the left side of his chest and back. Evaluation revealed pus accumulated in the pleural space which ...
متن کاملCase Report Retroperitoneal Cyst: An Uncommon Presentation of Filariasis
Primary retroperitoneal parasitic cysts are rare. Here we report about a middle aged male patient from rural north India with a recent onset of central abdominal retroperitoneal lump, pain, and fever. After surgical resection due to diagnostic uncertainty, at histopathology, it turned out be a filarial cyst. After receiving a course of diethylcarbamazine, the patient is asymptomatic at 4 months...
